Someone's Diary

Someone's Diary: Vol. 5 · Liyue Harbor

Liyue Translated text; in-game wording takes precedence

A journal someone left in Liyue Harbor, describing their experiences there.

—Liyue Harbor—

I sold the medicinals at Bubu Pharmacy. Not only did I make up the shortfall, I even turned a small profit. At this rate, in a few more years I should be able to own a house of my own in Liyue and bring Dongdong to live with me. Just then Dongdong will also be of an age for school.

If I had studied properly when I was young, I wouldn't have fallen in with that pack of Treasure Hoarder scoundrels, and wouldn't have squandered all the family wealth Father left. Thinking of that, I feel I must send Dongdong to the best teachers, so he can make upright friends—and never fall as low as his father. For Dongdong's sake I still cannot give up; I must struggle one more time.

…Though I say that, still holding onto the dream of striking it rich, I tried my luck at the Jade Mystery. I hadn't meant to waste money on such things… but I couldn't resist Boss Shitou's silver tongue, which coaxed me into putting all my money into it. Luck was not bad; I cracked out several pieces of decent jade. But for the gambling on stones I had already pawned the sickle and medicine chest I used for herb gathering.

I have nothing left. The precious jades from stone gambling are fine, but such things are not so easy to sell. Seems I can only risk it once more—try my luck overseas. If I throw in with the Crux Fleet, would Captain Beidou be willing to take me?

Even scrubbing decks would do. I haven't eaten in three days.
