Flight Guide

A primer for new Wind Glider users, and required reading for anyone seeking a Mondstadt flight license. This handbook gives Mondstadt citizens the basic points to watch when using a Wind Glider.

1. Before flying, confirm that you are healthy in body and mind.

2. When taking off, use a wind current or higher ground.

3. While gliding, watch wind strength and direction, and keep your flight balanced.

4. Mind aerial traffic, and use your Wind Glider only on the dates permitted by your license number.

5. When landing, keep your balance and stow the glider at a safe height.

6. Never use a Wind Glider while intoxicated!

Case studies of violations:

1. To amuse his daughter, Mondstadt citizen Rudolph leapt from his two-story house with a Wind Glider. He immediately broke his left shin and bruised the muscles of his hip, nearly leaving Miss Lily without a whole father. After a warning, Rudolph was banned from flying for one year.

2. When tourist Alice took off from Windrise, she burst Anemo Slimes to create explosive updrafts and climbed rapidly into the high sky. The legendary adventurer performed a string of stunts and won cheers and wide praise from Mondstadt citizens. Acting Grand Master Jean of the Knights of Favonius received her and ordered a ten-day travel restriction.

3. To show off his "godlike lyre skill" to drinking companions, bard Jose tried to play the lyre while gliding and insisted on finishing a long poem he had just written in midair.

After ten full minutes of muddled wind-borne wailing and chaotic strumming, half of Mondstadt watched "six-fingered Jose, peer of Barbatos" plummet headfirst into the fountain. Fortunately, Barbatos always looks after those who misjudge themselves. Though the lyre and glider were badly damaged, Jose suffered only minor scrapes. For dangerous flight and severe public nuisance, he was banned from flying for five years and sentenced to three months of compulsory public service.
