A Customs Study of Hilichurls: Vol. 4

Mondstadt Translated text; in-game wording takes precedence

A study by Mondstadt ecologist and "laureate poet of Hilichurlian" Jacob Musk on Hilichurl social customs. This volume takes Mondstadt as example to explore the diversity of Hilichurl customs.

Diversity of Hilichurl Customs—Taking Mondstadt's Dadaupa Gorge as Example

The "Meaty Tribe" loves to eat and drink heartily. In their tribe they built pens to raise wild boar, with dedicated "swineherds" to watch them. They use Pyro Slimes as natural stoves, set a great pot to cook meat soup, and tribal members may take and eat as needed.

Most striking in their tribe is a huge arena platform. It seems that whoever mounts that platform is tacitly taken as accepting the tribe's challenge, and whoever is driven off is mocked by the whole tribe.

The "Sleeper Tribe" prefers to seize every possible chance to doze. They even build crude houses specially for more comfortable sleep, and choose soft, warm pelts as bedding. Perhaps from the advantage of ample sleep, they are the craftiest and shrewdest among Hilichurls.

The "Eclipse Tribe" is the most mysterious branch among Mondstadt Hilichurl tribes. More than muscle and small cleverness, they value the mysterious power of faith. Unlike the natural elemental power ordinary Hilichurls believe in, the object they worship seems to be a crude symbol like a black sun. Their shamans have stronger power than those of other tribes. At the center of the tribal camp, the Eclipse Tribe prepares the tallest "throne" for the highest-ranking shaman.
