Let's Go, Dodoco!
Let's Go, Dodoco!
Editor's note: Let's Go, Dodoco! is a story finished together by a big girl and a little girl. Every little scene holds their gentleness and blessings—also a gift they give to all readers. We hope this thin little book can bring readers some simple joy amid busy work.
"All 'Dodocos' will, sooner or later, ride the wind and sea-currents on an adventure," a gentle and beautiful mother once said.
Just as she foretold, our Dodoco was overjoyed when it heard its best friend Klee decide to adventure in the land of lightning.
Enjoying food at the "Good Hunter" restaurant with Klee, listening to the bard sing together—of course Dodoco likes those things.
But what Dodoco likes even more is counting stars in the sky with Klee, and weaving wildflowers into garlands together.
After all, every "Dodoco" longs to ride wind and current on an adventure.
To reach the far land of lightning, one must not only pass through wild winds but also cross the ocean.
Dodoco does not fear the howling wind—that was originally the Anemo Archon's blessing.
Dodoco does not worry about rolling waves either—it is a brave child.
But Dodoco does not want Klee to meet those dangers.
Because it is Klee's best friend, and best friends ought to protect each other, right?
Besides, Dodoco does not want to be apart from Klee.
Without Klee, every adventure would become like a Sweet Flower that cannot bloom—lonely and sad.
Even if one walked every inch of Teyvat and forded every stream, it would still be meaningless.
So there is nothing to hesitate over: Dodoco will board a ship with its best friend Klee and go adventuring!
On a ship you cannot fly free in the wind, nor swim freely in the sea—
but you can have Klee's smile, and big brother Albedo's stories.
Still very much worth it.
In Inazuma, the land of lightning, flowers and grass are purple, fish and birds are purple too—everything is purple.
If they painted them all, big brother Albedo would run out of purple paint, right?
Sadly big brother Albedo has no time to draw with Klee and Dodoco.
Big brother Albedo is a grown-up, and sometimes grown-ups have "grown-up" things to do.
But luckily Dodoco still has Klee beside it!
Klee always finds something happy to do; as long as Dodoco is with Klee, it will never be bored.
Klee has many, many friends in Inazuma: the Honorary Knight big sister, Paimon, and big sister Yoimiya.
All of them, together with Dodoco, had the happiest grand adventure in Inazuma.
Yahoo—long live the grand adventure!
The Honorary Knight big sister took Dodoco up high Mt. Yougou.
Everyone was tired from climbing, lay under the Sacred Sakura, and fell into a deep sleep.
When they woke, everyone had grown wings like a tengu's.
Klee's wings were red, big sister Yoimiya's golden, the Honorary Knight big sister's cyan.
As for Paimon—she can fly without wings, so Paimon didn't need any!
Everyone's wings opened together and whipped up a huge wind.
"Whoosh—" it blew the shrine maiden big sister's hair into a mess.
Oh no—better fly away quick before she gets mad.
The grand adventure was so much fun, but… "Gurgle," Klee's tummy rumbled.
Oh my, how could we forget—delicious snacks are a vital part of a grand adventure!
"Nom nom…" So everyone bought tasty dango and happily shared them.
Dodoco and Paimon finished their shares in no time; stuffed Dodoco looked at Klee's smile and couldn't help thinking—
Meeting Klee, meeting everyone, was the happiest, happiest, happiest thing Dodoco could think of!
Ah, and one more important thing: strictly speaking, you who are reading this absolutely count as a member of this grand adventure.
Adventuring together, laughing together, sharing good food—after all that, of course you are everyone's good friend.
So come watch the fireworks big sister Yoimiya sets off too.
While everyone watched the fireworks happily, big sister Yoimiya said:
"As long as imagination does not dry up, the heart is freer than anything."
Klee couldn't help saying either: "We are friends who will never be apart."
See how happy Dodoco is when it's with good friends?
Now you are Dodoco's good friend too—so you must also be happy, and go with your friends on the greatest adventure.
